Over the past week, the ministry of finance made a statement that there will not be a huge salary increment for public sector workers until 2024 but the finance minister has stated that, there will be a negotiation
“… people should not be expecting huge wage increases in the course of the next few years. This is because we don’t have money to pay for it,” the ministry stated
This however sparked much controversy amount public sector workers looking at how the government has introduced 5 new taxes in the 2021 budget
During the vetting of the finance minister, Ken Ofori Atta stated that government will negotiate with the public sector workers to discuss their salary increment.
The President has also stated that, there salary increment for public sector workers has not been frozen in his address at the TUC.
