The president of Ghana, Akuffo-Addo has said that there will be no salary increment for himself, the vice president, Bawumia and other appointees of the executive this year
He made the disclosure when he delivered a speech at an event in Accra to mark May Day.
“I have taken the decision to freeze salary increment for this year, 2021 for myself as president, the vice president, ministers, deputy ministers, and all appointees of the Executive,” the president stated
According to the president, the reason for this decision is to reduce the economic damage to our public sector revenue
“modest contribution to reduce the damage to our public revenue and to help hasten our nation’s recovery from the ravages of the pandemic.”
